"If Novak named the system GoaT, meaning 'Greatest of all Time,' I think they were dead on. If you are thinking about getting into the new crawling trend, make sure this system is on your ‘must have’ list. You won’t be disappointed!

NOVAK'S GOT YOUR GOAT
As the R/C crawling segment gains popularity, the need for crawler-specific equipment has become greater. Novak is happy to fill the need with the new Goat 2S Crawler Brushless/Brush ESC (#3219). Novak’s software experts have designed the Goat ESC with a Fully-Programmable Interface using Novak’s easy One-Touch button and four LEDs. The following parameters can be adjusted: Dead Band, Minimum Drive, and Hill/Drag Brakes (except Servo/Robotic Mode). The Drive Frequency can also be adjusted in the Brushed Mode. For further flexibility, the Li-Po Cutoff Circuitry can be activated in all of the throttle profiles, and Motor Rotation Direction can be activated in any of the three brushless profiles.
|
The Goat 2S has four profiles that can be easily selected:
- Standard Crawler — maintains linear crawler motor response in both forward and reverse and features high-powered drag/hill/hold brakes.
- Expo Crawler — features the standard crawler profile but uses a built-in exponential curve for smoother response to accommodate entry-level transmitters.
- Servo/Robotic Mode — features precise and symmetric motor control in forward and reverse for robot applications, but without the drag brake.
This mode is also ideal for use in a Losi® Comp Crawler™ with a Novak Crawler 13.5T Brushless Motor.
- Brushed Mode — is automatically selected when used with a brushed motor. For use with a single brushed motor, it operates down to 27-turns. And with dual motors, 55-turns or higher is optimum.
And if multiple profiles weren’t enough, the Goat 2S ESC has also been outfitted with a rugged 6 volt / 5 amp BEC to provide powerful and precise steering while embarking on unsteady landscape, with no additional BEC to purchase or install.
In addition, the Goat 2S ESC offers total motor compatibility, allowing drivers the ability to interchange between brushed and brushless motors easily without modifying the whole system. The Goat 2S ESC is available individually or as a Brushless Crawler system (#3016-#3019), which is factory wired to the Crawler Sintered Brushless Motor. Novak’s original Crawler Brushless Motor (#3418) and Crawler 13.5T Brushless Motor are also compatible with the Goat 2S ESC.
Additional features of the Goat 2S ESC include Zero Reverse Delay for instant power delivery in both forward and reverse when needed; adjustable Active Hill/Drag Brakes that use battery power to slow the vehicle to a wheel-locking stop; and a Built-In 6-Volt Power Output for an optional cooling fan or detail items like lighting features or miscellaneous accessories.
MOTOR COMPATIBILITY
The Goat 2S Crawler is designed for use with sensor-based Novak 540-sized Crawler Brushless Motors -- 13.5T (#3414), 18.5T (#3419) and 21.5T (#3420). Using a Novak SS Pro motor (#3408-#3421) is acceptable, but the ESC will default to an XBR non-crawling default profile. Any motor used must have Thermal Overload Protection, which protects the system from overheating and damage. In fact, the ESC will only operate with brushless motors that have built-in thermal protection that follow ROAR guidelines. This sophisticated feature ensures a fun day at the track without the worry of overheating. For the complete list of compatible motors, click here.
