SS SYSTEMS TURN PRO

PRO-SERIES BRUSHLESS SYSTEMS
The SS Pro Series is based on Novak’s premier Velociti-Series Racing brushless motors. The SS Pro-Series is available in three motor winds:

  • SS8.5 Pro Brushless Motor is 8.5 turns and similar to a 15-17-turn mild-modified brush motor (#3408)
  • SS10.5 Pro Brushless Motor is 10.5 turns, which is similar to a 19-turn brush motor, and has been approved for the ROAR Super Stock Class (#3410)
  • SS13.5 Pro Stock Brushless Motor is 13.5 turns, which is similar to a 27-turn racing stock brush motor, and has also been approved for the ROAR Super Stock Class (#3413)
  • SS17.5 Pro Brushless Motor is 17.5 turns and is ideal for use in the 17.5-turn brushless class that organizations such as Brushless Racing League* and Southwest Tour* have instituted. Approved for ROAR Stock Class (#3417)

Each SS Pro Series motor is available in a combo system factory-wired with a GTB Programmable Racing Brushless/Brush ESC (#1710). Novak brushless systems include everything to be race-ready, out of the box, so there is nothing extra to buy or install. The entire system is factory-tested, so racers can be assured that the SS Pro Brushless Systems will provide optimum performance.

To address the popular 4-cell brushless racing classes, the ROAR-approved SS10.5 Pro and the SS13.5 Pro Super Stock Brushless Motors will also be offered in a combo system factory-wired with a GTB 4-Cell Programmable Racing Brushless/Brush ESC (#1714):

NOVAK’S GTB RACING ESC
The SS Pro brushless systems are available with the GTB Programmable Racing Brushless/Brush ESC (#1710) or GTB 4-Cell Programmable Racing Brushless/Brush ESC (#1714). Both model ESCs are packed full of features. The versatile ESCs can be used with either brushless or brushed motors and have no brushed motor limit. The #1710 GTB ESC is compatible with all Novak 540-size sensored brushless motors, while the #1714 GTB 4-Cell ESC is specifically designed for 4-cell applications such as 1/12-scale on-road, and 1/12 or 1/10-scale pan car oval.

The GTB ESCs are also programmable with a user-friendly interface, including 4 different color status LEDs that make programming extremely easy. The brushless mode has 4 adjustable parameters, including Minimum Brake, Drag Brake, Deadband, and Minimum Drive. The brushed mode is fully programmable with all of the adjustments of the brushless mode, plus adjustable Drive Frequency.

SS PRO MOTOR FEATURES
The SS Pro brushless motors are equipped with outstanding features such as the Novak ROAR-approved, Nickel-plated Sintered Neodymium rotor. The rotor is the same high-performance rotor that the Velociti 3.5R motor currently features (and which all Velociti motors now have). The rotor is ideal for use with any and all applications and provides many benefits, including:

  • Significantly increased magnetic strength for improved throttle feel
  • Improved, stronger motor braking power
  • Improved performance in higher temperature conditions
  • Improved motor acceleration and power
  • Higher efficiency
  • Lower current draw
  • Nickel-plated rotor for a long lasting, smooth, clean finish
  • ROAR approved

Another standard feature is a set of ribbed aluminum end bells. The lightweight aluminum end bells not only reduces the overall weight of the motor, but the ribbed design also acts as a heat sink by efficiently removing excessive heat from the motor.

Other great standard features found on all Novak motors, including: a convenient Solder Tab System for easy wire replacement; Sensor-Based Technology for excellent starting torque, low-speed drivability, and smooth acceleration; the same Oversized Front Bearing used in Novak’s Velociti-series motors that is more rugged, extra durable, and helps extend motor life; and Thermal Overload Protection (when used with a Novak brushless ESC) that allows pack after pack to be run without fear of damaging the motor, battery, or speed control.

The Pro motors will also be outfitted with a color-coded, non-removable, non-replaceable timing ring located on the rear end bell. The timing rings will be of great assistance to race directors and officials in ensuring the correct motor is used during racing. The timing rings are a visibly easy way to check that racers’ are compliant with race rules. The SS10.5 Pro features a blue timing ring, the SS13.5 features an orange timing ring, and the SS8.5 features a black timing ring.

Each motor is factory hand-wound and is put through rigorous testing, including a final dyno test to ensure that each motor meets Novak’s rigid specifications.

4-6 CELL OR 2 LI-PO CELL BRUSHLESS SYSTEMS:

  • GTB/SS8.5 Pro Brushless System—this system is the perfect brushless system for use with sport battery packs and entry-level equipment. It is also ideal for off-road racing and general applications. (#3008)
  • GTB/SS10.5 Pro Brushless System—this system is ideal for use in ROAR Super Stock class races with performance similar to 19-turn brush motor. (#3010)
  • GTB/SS13.5 Pro Brushless System—this system is ideal for use in ROAR Super Stock class races with performance similar to a 27-turn stock brush motor. Its lower speeds provide better vehicle control for newer drivers and longer run-times for those wanting to get valuable “practice” time on the track. (#3013)
  • GTB/SS17.5 Pro Brushless System—this system is great for use in the 17.5 ROAR Stock class races and with other race organizations, such as the BRL and SWT. (#3017)
