Novak's award-winning GTB/SS Pro Brushless Motors offer a world-class spec-racing experience. The versatile GTB ESC can be used with either brushless or brushed motors and has no brushed motor limit, and is compatible with all Novak 540-size sensored brushless motors.
The GTB ESC is also programmable with a user-friendly interface, including four different color status LEDs that make programming extremely easy. The brushless mode has four adjustable parameters, including Minimum Brake, Drag Brake, Deadband and Minimum Drive. The brushed mode is fully programmable with all of the adjustments of the brushless mode, plus adjustable Drive Frequency.
WHICH GTB/SS PRO SYSTEM TO CHOOSE?
The SS Pro-Series is available in four motor winds:
- SS8.5 Pro Brushless Motor is 8.5 turns and is the fastest of the SS Pro-Series motors. It is also a great choice for off-road racing and general applications (#3408)
- SS10.5 Pro Brushless Motor is 10.5 turns and approved for ROAR spec-brushless racing (#3410)
- SS13.5 Pro Stock Brushless Motor is 13.5 turns and ROAR approved for Super Stock spec-brushless racing. Its lower speed provides better vehicle control for newer drivers and longer run-times for those wanting to get more practice time on the track (#3413)
- SS17.5 Pro Brushless Motor is 17.5 turns and is ideal for use in vintage Trans-Am racing and is approved for ROAR Stock spec-brushless racing (#3417)
Each SS Pro Series motor is available in a combo system factory-wired with a GTB Programmable Racing Brushless/Brush ESC (#1710). Novak brushless systems include everything to be race-ready, out of the box, so there is nothing extra to buy or install. The entire system is factory-tested, so racers can be assured that the SS Pro Brushless Systems will provide optimum performance.
SS PRO MOTOR FEATURES
Novak's award-winning SS Pro Brushless Motors offer a world-class spec-racing experience. Each SS Pro motor is equipped with a nickel-plated sintered Neodymium rotor for maximum motor acceleration, braking power and performance in high-temperature conditions, and Thermal Overload technology to ensure the motor is operating at a safe temperature. The SS Pro motors also feature a shielded-sensor cable and a completely rebuildable design, allowing for the ability to upgrade or replace various motor parts. In addition, each motor is identified by a color-specific timing ring for simple differentiation between spec motors: 8.5 – black, 10.5 – blue, 13.5 – orange, 17.5 – yellow and 21.5 – green.
The SS Pro brushless motors are equipped with all of the great standard features found on all Novak motors, including a convenient Solder Tab System for easy wire replacement; Sensor-Based Technology for excellent starting torque, low-speed drivability, and smooth acceleration; the same Oversized Front Bearing used in Novaks Velociti-series motors that is more rugged, extra durable and helps extend motor life: and a set of lightweight, aluminum end bells that not only reduce the overall weight of the motor, but also acts as a heat sink by efficiently removing excessive heat from the motor.
SENSOR-BASED DESIGN
Of its many features, the SS Pro's sensor-based design allows for most of the motors' important benefits.
- No Cogging--Thanks to constantly knowing the rotor position, the motor provides instantaneous throttle response and smooth transitions from neutral to drive. The rotor position knowledge is attained due to the ESC and motor being continuously synchronized via the motor harness.
- Smooth & Controlled Low Speed Driveability--Always knowing the rotor angle is key to smooth acceleration without delivering abrupt and uncontrolled bursts of power.
- Strong/Consistent Brakes & Starting Torque--Rotor position knowledge results in consistent starts and stops, without hesitation or inconsistent lag times before acceleration or braking--this translates to consistant lap times.
- Thermal Protection--Temperature sensors inside motor provide unparalleled thermal protection, allowing you to run pack after pack without worrying about overheating the motor, ESC or magnets.
