Novak Provides Brushless Power in Losi RTR

Getting started with a brushless system just got a whole lot easier. Two of the most respected names in R/C,Team Novak and Team Losi, have joined forces to provide R/C enthusiasts with a brushless-powered car that's Ready-to-Run! One of Losi's most popular electric RTR's, the XXX-T, received a brushless boost with a custom-designed brushless system from Novak.

The brushless motor that comes installed in the Losi car is Novak's SS4300 brushless motor that has a slight modfication: cool black plastic endbells. The 10 1/2-turn motor provides performance similar to, or slightly better than, a 27-turn racing stock brushed motor. It features lower speeds for increased vehicle control, which is ideal for newer drivers. It also provides approximately 20% longer run-times than a typical brush motor, which amounts to more driving fun — exactly what every driver wants! For another brushless motor option, users can install Novak's SS13.5 Stock Brushless Motor in the Losi XXX-T Brushless RTR.

The other half of the brushless system is the Super Sport 10.5 ESC. This ESC comes loaded with Novak's standard features that R/C drivers have come to appreciate for their convenience as well as for their performance. The Super Sport 10.5 has two throttle profiles: Forward/Brake/Reverse and Forward/Brake only (via Novak's Reverse Disable feature). Reverse Disable effectively locks out the reverse mode in the speed control, which allows racers to race at tracks that do not allow vehicles with reverse. Other features the Super Sport includes are Variable Throttle Step Technology for smooth throttle response; One-Touch Set-Up for ease of programming; and Radio Priority Circuitry for control when batteries are spent.

One of the greatest advantages of brushless motors is that it requires virtually no maintenance. This is due to there being no brushes, brush springs, or commutator to true or wear out. All Novak motors incorporate sensor technology which allows excellent starting torque and low-speed driveability. The motors also provide low cogging for smooth acceleration and smooth coasting. The SS4300 10.5-turn Losi edition motor feature direct-solder wiring tabs for easy wire replacement, and locked rotor and thermal protection to allow pack after pack to be run without fear of damaging the motor, battery, or speed control. The bottom line is you get more time to play with less time wrenching!
