Havoc Sport Brushless/Brush ESC |
|
The Havoc 2S Spec Brushless System may look similar to the Havoc 2S Sport Sensored System, but it's specifically made for a different class of racers -- spec-class racers. Novak has combined the award-winning SS Pro motors with the Havoc Sport ESC to equal four of the most inexpensive, club-level spec-racing systems on the market. The Havo 2S Spec Brushless Systems – 10.5T, 13.5T, 17.5T & 21.5T (#3033 - #3036) are ideal for racing at local clubs and tracks, such as spec-oval racing, vintage Trans-Am racing and any form of club-level brushless-spec racing. Plus, the systems are ROAR approved. The SS Pro motors are sensored for low-speed driveability and consistent brakes, and the Havoc 2S ESC features nine adjustable parameters to fine-tune brake and throttle response. The Havoc 2S ESC also offers many of the features and adjustability as Novak’s GTB Programmable Brushless/Brush ESC, including Li-Po Cut-Off Circuitry, but is more affordable. Combined, the Havoc 2S ESC and SS Pro motors offer a great system at a great price to get you club-level spec racing in no time.
WHICH HAVOC SPEC TO CHOOSE?
The Havoc 2S Spec Brushless Systems are available in four motor turns.
- SS10.5 Pro Brushless Motor is 10.5 turns and approved for ROAR spec-brushless racing (#3033)
- SS13.5 Pro Stock Brushless Motor is 13.5 turns and ROAR approved for spec-brushless racing (#3034)
- SS17.5 Pro Brushless Motor is 17.5 turns and is ideal for use in vintage Trans-Am racing and is approved for ROAR spec-brushless racing (#3035)
- SS21.5 Pro Brushless Motor is 21.5 turns and is the slowest motor in the SS Pro Series. It was specifically designed to offer oval, vintage Trans-Am and beginning drivers an even slower option, which makes it ideal for extended run times. The motor is also approved for ROAR spec-brushless racing (#3036).
CATCH ME, IF YOU CAN
As a highly affordable but reliable sensored-spec system, the Havoc 2S System is the ultimate spec-class racing package. Each SS Pro motor is equipped with a nickel-plated sintered Neodymium rotor for maximum motor acceleration, braking power and performance in high-temperature conditions, and Thermal Overload technology to ensure the motor is operating at a safe temperature. The SS Pro motors also feature a shielded-sensor cable and a completely rebuildable design, allowing for the ability to upgrade or replace various motor parts. In addition, each motor is identified by a color-specific timing ring for simple differentiation between spec motors: 10.5 – blue, 13.5 – orange, 17.5 – yellow and 21.5 – green.
RACE-READY ESC
For those interested in fine tuning, the Havoc 2S ESC offers a simple interface, making the system completely programmable with vast customization opportunities. One parameter, in particular, is Novak’s new Throttle Curve that gives drivers the ability to experiment with two throttle responses – Linear and Expo – which range between a quick burst of power to a smoother, more controlled low-end power delivery. In addition, the Havoc 2S’s Brake Frequency adjustment features seven degrees of adjustability from a smooth and controllable brake to a more abrupt and grabbier feel. Moreover, Novak has also built into the ESC Li-Po Cut-Off Circuitry, which prevents the batteries from going below the critical safety voltage level. For further racing opportunities, Novak installed a Reverse Disable feature to turn the Havoc into a forward-only brushless system for club-level racing.
MOTOR COMPATIBILITY
The Havoc 2S ESC and motor contain Thermal Overload Protection circuitry to protect the system from overheating and damage. In fact, the ESC will only operate with brushless motors that have built-in thermal protection that follow ROAR guidelines, such as Novak’s SS Pro Brushless Motors (#3408 - #3421) and Ballistic Brushless Motors (#3608 - #3621) This sophisticated feature ensures a fun day at the track without the worry of overheating. **The BEC was updated from a 6.0V/1.5A voltage regulator to a 6.0V/3.0A voltage regulator in July 2009 to provide trouble-free performance when used with high-performance, aftermarket servos. Novak recommends using the 3-Amp Universal BEC (#5460) to increase performance in systems using high-performance servos.
