Novak's GTB 2 Sportsman Racing Brushless ESC (#1709) has hit the market with some of the most sought after features for Sportsman class racing. Its modern design includes everything a Sportsman class driver would want without timing adjustments or a PC interface. This ESC provides the industry with a spec speed controller, ensuring even competition among Sportsman Class racers. It is no wonder, then, that Novak is proud to introduce the speed control paired with the best-selling Ballistic Spec 540 Brushless motors! The GTB 2 Sportsman / Ballistic 540 Brushless Systems are available in two motor turns: 13.5 (#3090) and 17.5 (#3091).

This system was specifically paired for racers looking for a reliable system to use in 0 Timing Spec classes. It is not only built specifically to ROAR Sportsman specifications, but is perfect for other "No Boost" classes as well. These systems come with a low profile heat sink for space-friendly racing. All around, these systems are feature-packed at an affordable price, and are ideal for use in any 1:10 scale On-Road and Off-Road applications.


The GTB 2 / Ballistic 540 BL Systems not only give drivers a Sportsman level setup, but also the latest features and technology, keeping the racer first at the finish line. The GTB 2 has a user-friendly One-Touch Programming Interface for "setup and go" operation. It has multiple adjustable parameters, including Minimum Brake and Drag Brake and has Thermal Overload Protection. This speed controller includes Built-In Voltage Cut-Off Circuitry and is sensor-based for excellent torque and low-speed drivability.

Novak's trusted Ballistic motors also contribute to the systems' appeal. Novak's Ballistic Spec Brushless Motors 13.5T (#3613) & 17.5T (#3617) are completely rebuildable, right down to the hardware. Each stator includes a factory-installed insert that easily identifies the number of motor winds. This next-generation spec motor series contains an easy-to-adjust timing assembly that alters the RPM range, allowing for strategic and smart spec racing.
